Objective To investigate the correlation between erythrocyte immune function and inflammatory cytokines in peripheral blood in patients with asthma. Methods Forty asthmatic patients with asthma attack were selected as the asthma attack group and 40 asthmatic patients with asthma remission were treated as the asthma relief group and 40 normal controls as the normal control group. The activity of RBC-C3bRR, IL-5 and IL-10 in three groups were compared. Results The levels of RBC-C_ (3b) RR and IL-10 in asthma attack group were lower than those in normal control group and IL-5 level was higher than that in normal control group (t = 6.857,9.376,2.358, P < 0.05). The level of IL-10 in asthma remission group was not significantly different from the control group (t = 1.813, P> 0.05). The RBC-C_ (3b) RR in asthma remission group was lower than that in normal control group In the normal control group, the difference was statistically significant (t = 4.471,2.890, P <0.05). The level of IL-5 in asthma attack group was not significantly different from asthma relief group (t = 0.424, P> 0.05). The levels of RBC-C_ (3b) RR and IL-10 in asthma attack group were lower than those in asthma relief group , The difference was statistically significant (t = 2.090,8.912, P <0.05). Conclusions Erythrocyte immune function and peripheral blood-related cytokines levels are closely related to the occurrence and development of asthma, and have important clinical significance for the dynamic observation of the disease.
