包惠僧是一个人,一个参加了中共一大却正式代表身份长期得不到确认的人。我们是大同乡。我祖居浠水,他籍贯黄冈,前清时都属黄州府,如今都属黄冈市。黄冈市人杰地灵,对中国共产党的创建作出了特殊的贡献,十三位代表中出自黄冈的就有三人:董必武、陈潭秋和包惠僧。出自我们湖北的还有李汉俊和刘仁静。作为近现代史和中共党史研究者,我一直关注着对他们的生平和活动的研究。
