沃尔柯特是我们熟悉的诗人了。他的诗歌,音韵优美、意象纷纭、意境开阔,而且饱含了对西方文明向弱势文明不断侵袭所造成的损害的忧虑。沃尔柯特的诗歌,有很多中文译本,各具特色。本期我们推出的,是老诗人屠岸所译的两首。这两首诗,非常能够代表沃尔柯特的风格,气息绵密,双关语迭出,想象力异常丰富。屠岸先生慧眼独具,选出这两首诗并以老到的手法将之翻译过来以飨读者,与原文共赏,可谓双璧。
Walcott is a familiar poet. His poems are beautiful in tone, diverse in conception and open in their artistic conceptions. They are also full of worries about the damage inflicted on the under-civilization by the Western civilizations. Walcott’s poetry, there are many Chinese translation, each distinctive. This issue we launch is the old poet Tuankan translated two. These two poems, very much representative of Walcott’s style, breathtaking, pun intended, exceptionally rich imagination. Mr. Tu Bank, with his unique eyesight, selected the two poems and translated them with the same techniques.
