我们情不自禁想找到一些能与古代生活取得联系的东西,文化之旅便带我们走向祖先生活的时空。“丝绸之路”指汉唐以来以中国首都为核心,向世界呈网状分布的交通路线。因为中国的首都往往是中国的政治、文化和经济交流中心, 中国以东的国家和地区如日本、朝鲜半岛同样也与这个网络联系在一起,而传统的丝绸之路更多的是强调中国与西方国家和地区的往来。它把当时世界上最发达的几个主要文化地区,如东亚、南亚、西亚、北非和欧洲联系起来。不仅在物产上实现了互通有无,而且使几种文明互相交流碰撞。中国地处丝路东段,丝路经境内长达四千余公里,跨越陕西、新疆、甘肃、内蒙古、青海5省。学术界将其分为草原丝绸之路、沙漠丝绸之路和绿洲丝绸之路等,传统意义上的丝绸之路指的是后者,从河西走廊进入新疆,从南北两个方向绕过塔克拉玛干沙漠进入中亚,并从中亚到达南亚、西亚、波斯湾、非洲和欧洲的道路。这一段在汉、唐时是中国的著名地区,是许多历史人物活动过的地方,各种文物和历史遗存十分丰富,连绵不断的石窟、寺庙、长城、关隘、城堡、驿站、渡口,甚至历史、地名、典故、植物及生活习俗等都与丝路有密切关系。
