The output of the bandgap reference is equal to the bandgap voltage of the silicon material. It has the parabolic temperature characteristic and the resistance can be adjusted to zero the temperature coefficient. It solves the difficult problem of Zener diodes: low reference output, long-term stability and thermal stability, ideal for high-precision D / A converter reference source.
