为了更加广泛地开展群众性体育活动,增强人民体质,推动我国两个文明建设和社会主义现代化建设事业的发展,1995年6月20日,国务院颁布了《全民健身计划纲要》。这一跨世纪宏伟工程的实施,标志着这项由国家领导、社会支持的全民健身运动将在全国范围内展开,我国的体育事业将进入一个新的历史发展时期。它对于提高中华民族的科技、文化、身体和道德整体素质,具有深远的现实意义和战略意义。
In order to carry out mass sports activities more extensively, enhance the constitution of the people, and promote the development of our two civilizations and the socialist modernization drive, the State Council promulgated the “Outline of a National Fitness Program” on June 20, 1995. The implementation of this grand project of the new century marks that this nationwide fitness exercise led by the state and supported by society will be launched nationwide and that our country’s sports career will enter a new historical period of development. It is of far-reaching practical and strategic significance to enhancing the overall quality of science, technology, culture, body and morality of the Chinese nation.
