The word toxic shock syndrome (TSS) was first proposed by Todd in 1978. Before 1980, over 98% of TSS cases were associated with menstrual tampons. Studies have shown that there is S. aureus reproduction in the vagina of most TSS cases, which helps identify the bacterium as a causative agent of this disease. Before 1981, most adult TSS were considered related to menstrual tampons. Now the syndrome can be found in a variety of operations unrelated to menstruation, such as surgical trauma, tubal ligation, hysterectomy, mastectomy, nasostrophy reconstruction, femoral surgery. It seems that any stool that causes staphylococcus to multiply, such as insect bites, burns, sweat glands
