In 1978 Todd et al first reported a group of staphylococcal toxin-related syndromes characterized by acute fever, conjunctival hyperemia, systemic erythroderma, subcutaneous edema, hypotension, impaired liver function and renal failure - Toxic-shock syndrome (TSS). Since then, reports gradually, and found that TSS occurred in menstrual women. As staphylococcal infection is not uncommon in clinical practice, the reported cases of TSS are not all menstrual women, local Staphylococcus aureus (also known as gold and grape) infection can also be caused. It is likely to have seen similar cases clinically misdiagnosed as sepsis, sepsis or other diseases. This article summarizes the relevant information for reference.
