近年来,琼中县湾岭镇新坡村积极响应县委、县政府号召,大力调整农业产业结构,成效显著,2001年人均纯收入达到2876元。目前全村农户全部住上了楼房,户均居住面积90平方米。在经济发展的同时,新坡村大力推进生态文明村建设,大大改善了农民的居住环境,提高了农民生活条件和村委会办公条件。全村基本用上经济实惠的沼气池和清洁的自来水以及卫生方便的私厕,村容村貌的美化、亮化和周边生态环境都有了明显改观
