合同,也叫契约,表示愿意订立共同遵守的条件,合作共事。商务语言合同有其自身独特的词法、句法和篇章特点,这些特点,尤其是词汇特点与英国和英语的历史是紧密相连的。对英文合同的词汇特点进行历史溯源,对于深入探析合同文本的草拟和翻译是大有助益的。鉴于以上考虑,笔者在本文中分析了商务英语合同的词汇特点,并进而对其进行了词源学上的历史溯源分析。
Contract, also known as contract, expressed the willingness to establish the conditions for common compliance, cooperation and work. Business language contracts have their own unique lexical, syntactical and textual characteristics, and these characteristics, especially the vocabulary features, are closely linked with the history of Britain and English. Historical tracing of the vocabulary features of English contracts is of great help to the drafting and translation of contractual documents. In view of the above considerations, the author analyzes the lexical characteristics of the business English contract in this paper, and then analyzes the etymological history of it.
