中国画创作领域的继承与创新,似应成为规律。丁杰的山水画创作,是在不动摇地踏上这一合规律之道。丁杰遵循着范宽、龚贤、黄宾虹,顾盼着石溪、石涛,融合着他们的厚重与华滋。丁杰的确是一位头脑清醒的画家。他是理性地把握着技能与性情,他在传统的继承上,取之有道,取之得法,取之适宜。在笔法的继承上,以书入画,方圆结合;在墨法的继承上,厚重而不沉闷,华滋而不轻薄;在章法的继承上,注重节奏性,注重平面性,讲究开合呼应,以占边、占角来把握张力。
