黔南州是我省引种油橄榄最早的一个地区。十三年来,在毛主席革命路线指引下,全州广大人民群众,为了贯彻周总理关于引种油橄榄要过好“成活关、生长关、开花结实关、丰产关油品、传种接代关”的指示,发扬了自力更生、艰苦奋斗的精神,广泛进行引种栽培,不仅积累了经验,而且培育出大量苗木,为我省发展油橄榄作出了贡献。现全州十三个县市都有引种,品种达十四个之多。引种较早的独山、麻尾、罗甸已开花结果,产量逐年上升,展示出油橄榄在黔南的自然条件下有其发展的前景。
