借助自由意志,奥古斯丁以哲学的方式确立了基督教义中的“原罪”信念,找到了“罪”的合理来源。上帝赋予人类得以正当生活的自由意志,这种给予的背后实质上承载着道德责任。恶的行为背后必然彰示着人的主观意愿性,这种恶也因其背后的道德责任而演化成了罪,有罪才当“罚”。在三位一体的法哲学体系中,彰显上帝理性的永恒法,从天上到人间,通过世俗法为正义提供了可靠性的实现途径与有力的捍卫。奥古斯丁在神学的基础上,通过对自由意志的设定与论述,思辨性地回答了“罪”的来源,赋予了作为主体性存在的人以法的属性——权利和责任,“也为‘法’提供了其效力的合理性”。
By means of free will, Augustine established the belief of “original sin” in Christian doctrine in a philosophical way and found a reasonable source of “sin.” God gives mankind the free will to live a just life, and behind this giving is essentially moral responsibility.
