风机、水泵是量大面广的通用机械,广泛应用于国民经济各个部门。据统计全国运转着的风机、水泵在1000万台以上,它们的耗电量约占全国发电量的31%(风机占10%,水泵占21%),约占全国工业用电量的50%。降低风机、水泵的能源消耗,避免浪费,对我国的能源节约具有举足轻重的意义。为了节能,可以改造或更换高效产品,提高风机、水泵的效率,但通常仅能提高5%左右。节能效果显著的是按工艺流程使风机、水泵变速运行,调速节能。目前,我国约有总数量一半左右的风机、水泵是在节流情况下运行的,如使之改为变速运行,以平均节电20%计
