美国的公共及私人机构已采取有力措施减少哈龙在美国的使用。这些措施已经使美国哈龙的产量降低到美国政府所规定的标准以下。两个生产哈龙的厂家,Du Pont公司和ICI公司已自愿停止生产哈龙。目前,在美国只有大湖化学(Great Lakes Chemicals)公司还在生产哈龙。
Public and private agencies in the United States have taken strong measures to reduce the use of halons in the United States. These measures have reduced the production of halons in the United States below the standards set by the U.S. government. Two halon producers, Du Pont and ICI, voluntarily stopped producing halons. Currently, only Great Lakes Chemicals in the United States is still producing halons.
