191 7年中国文学史翻开了新的一页 ,胡适发“文学革命”之先声 ,陈独秀成为“文学革命”运动中的主将。两者虽同样倡导文学革命 ,但其文学思想倾向不尽相同。胡适更侧重于包括语言在内的外在形式的变革 ,试图建立一种超政治的文学观念 ,主张“中国文艺复兴” ,对传统文化有着较清醒的判断 ;陈独秀则将文学形式和题材内容必然地联系起来 ,并将文学革命与社会革命逻辑地联系一起 ,主张与旧文化从根本上决裂。
