Objective To investigate the effect of PDCA nursing on the negative emotions of hospitalized patients with fracture. Methods A total of 126 hospitalized patients with fracture in our hospital from December 2013 to February 2016 were divided into control group and study group according to random number table method, with 63 cases in each group. Patients in the control group underwent routine orthopedic care. Patients in the study group received PDCA nursing care based on the routine care in the control group. The anxiety and depression status, health promotion life style and nursing satisfaction of two groups before and after nursing were compared. Results There was no significant difference between SAS and SDS scores (P> 0.05) in the pre-care study group and the control group, SAS and SDS scores in the control group after nursing, (P <0.05). There was no significant difference in VAS scores between the two groups at 1 hour after operation (P> 0.05), but at 24, 48 and 72 hours after operation, VAS score in study group was significantly higher than that in control group (P <0.05). Compared with those before nursing, the scores of health promotion life style after nursing in both groups were significantly higher (P <0.05), and the score of the study group after nursing was significantly lower than that of the control group (P <0.05).
