作为一种银幕风格,人们很难把夏钢的电影与第五代联系起来。当别的第五代导演都热衷于大漠黄沙、深宅大院时,他依然恰然自得地“漫步”在都市的街头和楼宇之间。在他的电影里,不讲求张扬的形式,看不到振聋发聩的批判意识,也没有操作上的刻意显露。我们所看到的只是一个更为接受自己人生的艺术世界。一直以来,夏钢都在用喜剧的样式,温情脉脉。不厌其烦地讲述都市里的一些凡人琐事,不惊天、不动地,普普通通、平平淡淡。因此,人们习惯于将夏钢的电影称为“都市温情喜剧”。
