The contents of trace and trace elements in clay-type sediments in DGKS96 0 3 well of the Okinawa Trough were measured. The terrigenous origin of sediments that had a significant impact on the sediment source in the middle Okinawa Trough was identified by the method of factor analysis Factor, biogenic factor, volcanism and hydrothermal factor. The composition of terrigenous causative factor is composed of inert elements such as Fe 2 O 3, Al 2 O 3, V and oxides such as K 2 O and MgO. The elemental composition of biogenic factor is CaO, Sr, Ba, Mn, P; elemental composition of volcano and seafloor hydrothermal factor is Na, Co, Ni.According to the sample factor score, the column sample is divided into four different stages of provenance from top to bottom: Highly-scored sediments are mainly local biofilm deposits, but also have contributions from terrigenous materials rich in biogenic matter. Sediments from volcanism in section B are characterized by significant sediments with high contents of Na, Co and Ni. And the sediments of the source materials are mixed, and the elements have little change in the vertical direction. The D-section is mainly terrigenous and the other sources are relatively few, and may be mainly from the shelf sediments exposed during the last glacial maximum. Slot provenance has staged argument. Because since the Last Glacial Maximum global climate change presents periodic alternating cold and warm, the step change in this area is the provenance of this period of ancient climate and environment gradually changed to reflect good.
