类比推理是以两个对象都有某此相同或类似的属性,并且其中一个对象还有另外的某些属性作为前提,推出另一个对象也有这些相同或类似属性的思维形式。在数学教学中,恰当地运用类比推理,往往使学生茅塞顿开,化难为易。所谓恰当地运用类比推理,就是要抓住问题的实质或关键进行类比。现举例说明这一问题。例如:我们经常见到圆木、钢管等堆成象下图的形状,通常用下面的算法求总根数:
