There is a general demand in the steel industry for standards that determine the basic quality control requirements for hot isostatic pressing (HIP), and as a result, the new ASTM standard ASTMA 1080, the hot isostatic pressing regulations for steel, stainless steel, and related alloy castings, has emerged. A1080 was developed by the A01.18 Casting Committee, an affiliate of the ASTM International Committee for the Manufacture of Steel, Stainless Steel and Alloy Castings.
