《金瓶梅》和《好色一代男》分别是中日文学史上俗文学的代表作,它们在时代背景、作为“笑书”的笑、好色等三方面存在异同,产生差异的原因是批判意识的有无而产生的讽刺精神和游乐精神的差别。
