Dr. Shosaku Numa, a Japanese doctor, graduated from Kyoto University in 1952 and received postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School and Max-Planck Institute of Cell Chemistry. He is currently Professor of Medical Chemistry and Molecular Genetics at Kyoto University Medical School. In a study of exploiting DNA recombination techniques to explore neurotransmitter and ion channels, Dr. Numa elucidated the primary structures of the cholinergic N and M receptors, sodium channels, calcium channels, and calcium release channels, The data also show that the transmitter asked the ion channel, the voltage gate ion pass
