不少实验中需要采用知形结构正比管。例如西欧核子中心的L3中的强子量能器的基个单元——正比管的阴极截面就是矩形的。又如一般大型磁谱仪上配用的单丝位置灵敏正比管的阴极也常常选用矩形结构。因而从设计和使用的角度,我们需要对这类计数管的几何参数和气体放大间的关系作定量的了解。通常,圆柱形正比管的几何参数与气体放大间的关系遵循Diethorn公式,即
Many experiments need to use the structure of the proportional structure of the tube.
