邓小平是中国改革开放的总设计师,他有两次重要讲话与中国改革开放息息相关。一次是他于1978年12月13日在中央工作会闭幕式上作的题为《解放思想,实事求是,团结一致向前看》的重要讲话;一次是他于1992年1月18日到2月21日,在视察武昌、深圳、珠海、上海等地时的重要讲话,即南方谈话。如果没有第一次讲话,中国就不可能走上改革开放之路,如果没有第二次讲话,中国的改革开放就不可能推进到新的历史阶段。
Deng Xiaoping, the chief architect of China’s reform and opening up policy, has two important speeches that are closely linked with China’s reform and opening up. One was his important speech entitled “Emancipating the Mind, Seeking Truth from Facts and Looking Forward Together in Solidarity” on December 13, 1978, at the closing ceremony of the Central Work Conference; once, from January 18 to February, 1992, On the 21st, during his visit to Wuchang, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Shanghai, he made an important speech, namely, the southern talks. Without the first speech, China will not embark on the road to reform and opening up. Without the second speech, China’s reform and opening up will not be able to advance to a new historical stage.
