Wytch Farm, the largest onshore oilfield in Western Europe, is located on an environmentally sensitive coastal area on the South Coast of England. Early in the seventies, the oilfield’s early development was concentrated in the land portion of the entire reservoir. Since 1989, various development options have been selected for the offshore part of the reservoir, which has a recoverable crude oil reserve of about 80 million barrels. It was not until 1991 that it was determined that the existing onshore wellsite will be used to develop offshore reservoirs using the extended displacement drilling (ERD) method. The project is now underway and the three wells outside the original planned eleven wells have been drilled and are being mined. This paper describes the application of coiled tubing to well logging and well completion in the ERD well drilling so far, including the successful use of coiled tubing for well logging evaluation of cement ring evaluation at a horizontal displacement of 4950 m and a sounding of 5695 m Vertical casing seismic logging (VSP) operations were successfully performed at a horizontal displacement of 3800 meters and a sounding depth of 4391 meters; coiled tubing under / fill stop plugs, moving bushings, sand / rock cuttings during completion operations, Of the operation and development of tools and process methods in the application of the details of the prediction of helical jamming points simulation results and compare these predictions with the field data; using DRA to improve the coiled tubing into the speed of the operation process: ERD well Impact of landing angle on coiled tubing run - in. The final conclusion shows that coiled tubing in ERD wells can significantly reduce drilling rig time and some of the current technical limitations.
