Open pit mining computer scheduling will bring many benefits to mining management. The most important direct benefit is that the production efficiency of work teams with a fixed number of equipment is fundamentally improved or the number of equipment is significantly reduced while meeting the production quotas. Among the more production-targeted mines, other benefits include the reduction of transshipment while meeting several mixing requirements and assuring that the mills will supply ore. Indirect benefits are predictable production, the ability to compare the performance of cars or shovels made by different manufacturers, and more detailed online production reports. At present, advances in small computers, computer hardware and software, and solid state electronics have made it easy to design and implement systems that were not feasible several years ago. This article discusses the system overview and focuses on the scheduling algorithms that meet the multi-objective requirements.
