电致变色显示(ECD)器件,是一种新型的平板、被动显示器件。它的优点是:视角大;对比度高,适合于强环境光下显示;工作电压低,在±1.5—3V下可书写与擦除;有存储性能。不久将会与其它平板显示器件在应用市场上相媲美。研制电致变色显示器件的关键工艺之一是选择、制备电解液和背景衬底的研制。本文着重介绍适用于显示极为 a-WO_3 透明薄膜所用的电解液、背景衬底的选择与研制;电解质 LiClO_4·3H_3O 的脱水方法,并采用多孔氧化铝板代替TiO_2粉末作为背景衬底。这样可延长器件的使用寿命,开关寿命在对比度为40%时可达5×10~6次以上,为今后ECD器件的推广应用创造了条件。
Electrochromic display (ECD) device, is a new type of flat panel, passive display device. Its advantages are: large viewing angle; high contrast, suitable for display in strong ambient light; low operating voltage, can be written and erased at ± 1.5-3V; storage performance. It will soon be comparable to other flat panel display devices in the application market. Development of electrochromic display device is one of the key process of choice, the preparation of electrolyte and background substrate development. This article focuses on the selection and development of electrolytes and background substrates for a-WO_3 transparent thin films, and the dehydration of LiClO_4 · 3H_3O electrolyte, using porous alumina plates instead of TiO_2 as the background substrate. This can extend the service life of the device, the switch life up to 5 × 10 ~ 6 times in the contrast of 40%, for the promotion of ECD devices to create the conditions for the future.
