The effect of Mn on the as-cast and normalized microstructure and hardness of low-grade white cast iron with continuous casting was systematically investigated. The results showed that Mn> 2.0% had a significant effect on the microstructure. The (M + A) composition resulted in a significant increase in the hardness of the matrix, which would greatly improve the relative relationship between carbide and matrix hardness in low chromium white cast iron . Experiments confirmed that Mn> 3% significantly improved hardness distribution uniformity. Also discussed is a reasonable Mn content range that maximizes the overall performance of low chromium manganese white cast iron
