Human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) is prevalent in many parts of the world and causes many diseases. Often lurking in the body after the first infection and may be re-activated under certain conditions. Methods for the diagnosis of HHV-6 include tissue culture and virus isolation, IFA detection of IgM and IgG antibodies and viral gene amplification (PCR), but the degree of infection is difficult to quantify. Although sensitive PCR, but more difficult to distinguish between latent infection and activated infection, and does not rule out the possibility of false positive. This article describes a new method: Antigen capture ELISA for the diagnosis of HHV-6 infection. This method employs a HHV-6 specific monoclonal antibody directed against gp116 / 64/54 soluble antigens of HHV-6
