Anabolic steroids (AS) are mostly used in the treatment of severe wasting diseases such as severe trauma and burns to increase body weight and promote wound healing. The AS receptor, the androgen receptor (AR), was discovered in the 1970s and most scholars believe the role of AS is mediated by AR. At present, most of the research on AR focuses on its effect on prostate diseases and male infertility, while the mechanism of AS and AR on wound healing is less reported at home and abroad. In this paper, AR is summarized from the aspects of structure and function, distribution and localization, mechanism of action, activation and entry of nuclear, binding to androgen response element (ARE) and the relationship with AS. At the same time, The role of healing.
