Cytomegalo Virus (CMV) is a group of viruses belonging to the herpes virus family and is widely distributed. It is common for humans and other mammals to be infected with this group of viruses. They have distinct species-specificities in host or tissue culture cells. Host infection can be asymptomatic to severe birth defects or death. In vivo and tissue culture can produce cytopathic effects, there are typical cytoplasmic and nuclear inclusions, so called cytomegalovirus. Due to the research of congenital infection, organ transplantation and tumor, more and more attention has been paid to CMV. In this paper, the pathogenicity and immunity of CMV are briefly described.
