《绘图双百喻》同湖南文艺出版社可谓结下不解之缘。1991年,当新百喻写满百篇准备歇手时,湖南文艺出版社第一家同我商定了出版事宜。由于读者的鼓励,新百喻欲罢不能。到1996年,又写了一百多篇。尽管《读书》编辑部转达了读者的盛情,我同丁聪先生还是觉得一种文字形式不宜耽之过久,宁可另辟蹊径作新的尝试。这时,又是湖南文艺出版社提出出版《绘图双百喻》的计划。读者名之为“陈文丁画”的
