Proposed by the China Academic Journal (CD) electronic magazine, China Science and Technology Information Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Information and Documentation Center, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Information Center, Peking University Library and Nanjing University, China Social Science Research Evaluation Center jointly organized the first China Science Documentation Metrology and Evaluation Research Symposium, in December 2001 December 23 ~ 27 held in Beijing. Literature research from 28 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China, library and information science, periodical editor, scientific research management, etc.
