Vitamin D has a wide range of physiological effects, in the human body, vitamin D and metabolites into vitamin D3 and vitamin D2. Sources of vitamin D3 in the body include two routes through which food and skin are converted from 7-dehydrocholesterol after exposure to the sun, and vitamin D2 is produced by illumination of ergosterol produced by the ferment. Vitamin D is metabolized by the 25-hydroxylase into the 25- (OH) dimension in the liver
