Studies of Aboriginal religion and social organizations in Australia have contributed to the development of sociology and anthropology. The article uses the method of “comparative control” to analyze the examples of two Australian native song series, hoping to help intercultural music comprehension. Much like the religious and social details of Australian aborigines, while not all repeating in other cultures, provide us with a holistic approach to religious and social issues, the details of Australian Aboriginal music are not always duplicated in other cultures, But perhaps it can give us a holistic approach to music analysis across all cultures. It is also one of the aims of ethnomusicology as a discipline not only because we can learn from others about it but because we can better understand the music in our own culture by understanding other people’s music.
