在全球,目前已经形成了五个国际性的特大城市带,即以英国伦敦为轴心的伯明翰-利物浦城市带、以法国巴黎为轴心的德国科隆-荷兰鹿特丹跨国城市带、以美国东北部的纽约为轴心的波士顿-费城-华盛顿城市带、以美国五大湖区的芝加哥为轴心的底特律-圣保罗城市带、以日本东京为轴心的横滨-名古屋-大阪城市带。这些国际性特大城市带无一例外都伴有相应的国际性大港口群。同样在中国,珠三角城市群有香港、深圳、广州港口群,长三角城市群有上海、宁波、南京港口群。绝非巧合,这其实从一个侧面也表明,现代化的城市发展离不开港口的发展。拥有强大的港口,对于一座城市乃至一个区域的经济发展和竞争力提升,无疑将起到拉动作用。港口正逐渐从交通枢纽转变成吸引国内外资本的焦点,在经济发展中所起的“引擎器”与“加速器”作用越来越大。
Globally, five international mega-cities have been formed, namely the Birmingham-Liverpool City Belt centered on London, England, the Cologne-Holland Rotterdam International City Belt on the axis of Paris, France, the northeastern United States The New York-based Boston-Philadelphia-Washington City Belt, the Detroit-St. Paul City Belt centered on Chicago in the Great Lakes region of the United States and the Yokohama-Nagoya-Osaka City Belt around Tokyo, Japan. These international megalopolis with no exception are accompanied by the corresponding international port group. Also in China, the Pearl River Delta urban agglomerations have Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Guangzhou port groups and the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomerations have Shanghai, Ningbo and Nanjing port groups. It is no coincidence that this actually shows from one aspect that the development of modern cities can not be separated from the development of the port. Having a strong port will surely play a role in boosting the economic development and competitiveness of a city or even a region. The port is gradually shifting from a transportation hub to a focal point attracting domestic and foreign capitals, and the role of “engine” and “accelerator” in the economic development is getting bigger and bigger.
