A thin magnetic lens β-ray spectrometer has been built and started to work. Its magnetic field coil consists of two line packages with inner and outer radii of 9.5cm and 22cm respectively and an axial length of 8cm arranged side by side with a total number of turns of 6580 turns and a total weight of about 100kg. The vacuum chamber consists of a length of 109.5cm and an inner diameter of 14 cm seamless copper tube, the electron energy that this spectrometer can focus on is 3 Mev (corresponding to the power consumption of about 1070 watts). When using a source of 5 m.m. diameter, the resolution of the instrument is 2.8% at a transmission of 0.27%.
