2009年7月,国家发展改革委批准新建合肥至福州铁路项目建议书。建设该项目,有利于提高铁路运输服务质量,优化和完善东部地区铁路网结构,促进沿线旅游资源开发,加快海峡西岸经济区发展。线路自合肥铁路枢纽合肥站引出,经安徽省巢湖、铜陵、黄山,江西省上饶,福建省南平,引入福州铁路枢纽福州站,线路全长813公里。
July 2009, the National Development and Reform Commission approved the new Hefei to Fuzhou railway project proposal. The construction of the project is conducive to improving the quality of railway transport services, optimizing and perfecting the railway network structure in the eastern region, promoting the development of tourism resources along the line and speeding up the development of the economic zone on the west side of the Straits. The line leads from Hefei Railway Station of Hefei Railway. It leads to Fuzhou Railway Station of Fuzhou Railway Station through Chaohu, Tongling and Huangshan in Anhui Province, Shangrao in Jiangxi Province and Nanping in Fujian Province. The total length of the line is 813 km.
