一“词”字未见于出土的先秦古文字材料,西汉时期的《苍颉篇》19中始有“词”字。字形结构及构件与今之楷书繁体“詞”字相同。《说文·司部》:“词,意内而言外也。从司,从言。似兹切。”段玉裁《说文解字注》:“词者,义内而言外。从司言,此为摹绘物状及发声助语之文字也。……司者,主也。意主于内而言发于外,故从司、言。……意即意内,词即言外。言意而词见,言词而意见。意者文字之义也,言者文字之声也,词者文字形声之合
