本文主要通过对上世纪中叶以后及本世纪初期,中国戏剧发展历程的阶段性梳理,侧重围绕当今二十一世纪主流戏剧的健康发展,就戏曲导演在其中应做的思考和作为,提出了一些自己粗浅的认识与看法。笔者以为,从上世纪末到二十一世纪初,戏曲艺术在经历了低谷徘徊之后,艺术家们渐渐开始了痛定思痛,都在认真地思考着中国戏曲的何去何从,在继承和发展的道路上如何更好地进行戏剧创作,要使二十一世纪的主流戏剧成为真正意义上的主流戏剧,成为时代精神文明的标志,成为名副其实的中华民族优秀传统文化的代表,身为新时代戏曲演出的组织者、创作者——戏曲导演,又该如何去作为?这就需要我们既要以崇敬的心态来审视我们中华民族的优秀传统文化,让传统文化的精神之火再次点燃观众对戏曲艺术的热情,同时,又要恰到好处地运用现代化的舞台技术和具有现代意识的演剧观念去重塑戏曲艺术,使戏曲艺术发扬光大。
