It is now estimated that the small-scale production of metals and coal in small mines in the United States accounts for a large proportion of the country’s growing demand for output. In fact, large-scale mines tend to develop at a faster rate than small-mines in both quantity and scale. The former has the highest productivity, the lowest number of industrial accidents and the lowest costs. Large-scale ore ore boundary grade can be set relatively low. This article will discuss how the scale of production affects the choice of shipment lift equipment; how mines continue to expand their production scale can reduce the production costs per ton of ore; and how they affect the profitability of mining of different grade deposits. It is estimated that the trend in the future is that the scale of mines will become larger and larger.
