英语是中学阶段(甚至小学五、六年级)的基础学科,英语教育越来越受到重视,取得了可喜的效果。但反思中学的英语教学,情况并不能令人满意。由于缺乏英语语境,学生每天只在英语课堂的四十分钟时间内接触英语,然后又回到母语环境中,这使得有相当一部分学生对英语不像对待母语那样作为一种需要(用汉语读、写、交际)来学,而是作为一种工具来学。其结果是,学了七、八年英语的高中毕业生,听不懂也说不出的“哑巴英语”
English is a basic subject in the middle school stage (even in the fifth and sixth grades of primary school). English education is getting more and more attention and has achieved gratifying results. However, reflecting on English teaching in secondary schools, the situation is not satisfactory. Due to a lack of an English context, students are exposed to English only for a duration of forty minutes in an English classroom and then returned to their native language environment, leaving a significant proportion of students a less need for English than treating their mother tongue (read in Chinese , Writing, communication) to learn, but as a tool to learn. As a result, seven or eight years of English high school graduates can not understand can not say “dumb English”
