西欧是现代长笛的故乡。这种横吹笛最初系自亚洲传人,于中世纪晚期在欧洲流行。公元1500年前后欧洲各地所使用的长笛与其东方“兄弟”无很大区别:木制的圆筒形管身,开六个音孔。
Western Europe is home to modern flute. Originally from Asia, this horizontal piper was prevalent in Europe in the late Middle Ages. The flutes used throughout Europe around the year 1500 are not very different from their “brothers” in the East: a wooden, cylindrical tube with six sound holes.
