Objective To investigate the effect of oxycodone extended-release tablets combined with sodium aescinate on pain management after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) of hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods Sixty patients with TACE postoperative hepatocellular carcinoma were randomly divided into control group and treatment group, 30 cases in each group. In the control group, oxycodone was used to relieve pain. In the treatment group, oxycodone and sodium aescinate were used to relieve pain. Analgesic effects and adverse reactions in the two groups were observed. Results Both groups were able to relieve the pain well, and the response rates of the two groups were 76.7% and 66.7% respectively. On the 1st, 3rd and 5th days after treatment, there was significant difference between the pain score treatment group and the control group (P <0.05 or <0.01). There was significant difference in the incidence of nausea and vomiting between the two groups (P <0.05). There was no significant difference in other adverse reactions between the two groups (P> 0.05). Conclusion Oxycodone sustained-release tablets combined with sodium aescinate can effectively relieve post-TACE pain in hepatocellular carcinoma without increasing the risk of patients.
