中国传统文化浓郁的人文精神植根于古代哲学和伦理学的人道思想，但这个人道又被天道所规定，人的主体能动性始终受着天道必然性的制约，其逻辑理路是将人道上升为天道，然后又反过来用天道规定、限定人道，故传统哲学把伦理道德乃至宇宙间一切存在都归本于天道。近代人道主义思想既继承了古代重视人道的传统，又以西方近代新的思想观念对它进行了新的阐释和改造，从而实现了对古代人道思想的超越，把人从天道本体的绝对规定中解放出来，成为了真正独立自主的主体性存在。传统的人道是法天立道，人的存在、价值、活动及其原则是天道本体绝对精神的体现；近代的人道是依人立道，人的存在本身就是他所有的一切之本原。
The rich humanistic spirit of Chinese traditional culture is rooted in the humane thought of ancient philosophy and ethics. However, this humanity is also regulated by Heaven.
