In this paper, five levels of Chinese undergraduates are selected to conduct empirical research. The results show that most second language learners can effectively identify English ascending and controlling based on the syntactic diagnosis of focalization (including pseudolinks and interrogative sentences) verb. This shows that L2 learners do have the potential to distinguish between the two types of verbal potential semantic knowledge, but based on the linguistic sense of English as a native speaker of the traditional criteria does not make this tacit knowledge be explicit, and what is the question At the same time, although L2 learners are less grammatical than English native speakers, their deep semantic knowledge is not significantly different from that of native English speakers. The problems in this respect may be due to morphological syntax and semantic knowledge Not perfect match.
