Long Shan Tou mud reservoir is a large reservoir in the lower reaches of Qingshui River in the arid mountainous area of southern Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Since it was completed in 1960, it has not only played an important role in intercepting muds, preventing floods and controlling soil and water loss, but also built a number of high-yield and stable-yield farmland on flood-scarification plots and increased grain yield.
