两个多世纪以来,汽车在人类社会的角色几经变换。汽车在诞生之初只是人们眼中新奇有趣的机器怪物;20世纪初它荣升为财富和身份的象征;其后,随着福特式汽车制造业的迅速崛起,汽车进入大众消费领域,成为人们的日常交通工具。时光飞转到新世纪,越来越多的人发现,充斥全球的这种钢铁与塑料橡胶的混合体渐渐转化为危及人类生命、祸害生存环境的危险分子。于是,有那么一天,人们远离了轿车,返回了安步当车的时代。
For more than two centuries, the role of automobiles in human society has been transformed. At the beginning of its birth, the car was only a novel and interesting machine monster; in the early 20th century it was promoted to a symbol of wealth and identity; then, with the rapid rise of the Ford automobile manufacturing industry, automobiles entered the mass consumption field and became people’s Daily transport.
