现在的时代彻底倒过来,历史文物的“北门书屋”又立石碑又悬挂牌子,路人皆知。而知道这所文物的大房子曾经是北门粮店的,恐怕是我们这些吃着从这里买的口粮长大、随老街道拆迁搬离走了、渐渐老去的一代。这所北门街上唯一保存下来的明清风格的老房子建成于1937年,在七八十年岁月中,开北门书屋的时间,不满四年,开国营粮店的时间,长达四十余年,这事显得有些巧合:无论是中国文化名人和社会名流扎堆,输送革命思想的北门书屋,还是为无知无识的平民供应定量口粮的北门粮店,所出售的,实质上都是粮食,一个喂养知识者的精神,一个让平凡大众饱肚子。
